Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any fabric shops in London that would sell chinese or japanese silk? Or any good fabric shops even if they don't?
Thanks in advance!

Not sure if they would sell the chinese or japanese silks you want, but go to Southall - they have streets crammed full of material shops. You're sure to find what you want.
Try the area around Berwick St, off Oxford St in Soho. On this street and the surrounding ones, there are quite a few good fabric shops. I believe a lots of wardrobe depts from the theatres shop around here for fabric for costumes etc.
Don't know if it is still there, but there used to be a shop in Berwick St named Borowicks (sp) that did a fantastic range of fabrics.
I saw several silk dressmaking fabrics at http://www.calicolaine.co.uk/dressmaking-fabric.html I'm just not sure whether there are some Chinese or Japanese silk available at their store, well they do offer beautifully design fabrics.
