What "fashionable" item do you cringe when you see people wearing?

For me it's got to be:

Ugg Boots - Give it up.They were bad enough in 2001 when Kate Moss et al were wearing them. A "revival" led by spotty fat teens, teaming them with sweat pants, 6 years later is embarassing. Cue a chorus of "But they're soooo comfortable"

Crocs - You're not from the future. You just look like your feet are made of Lego. Cue a chorus of "But they're soooo comfortable" part 2.

Star Tattoos - Whether they're spiralling up your forearm or dotted across the small of your back. You have the most commonly seen tattoo in the world. You're not original. Congratulations, you are a sheep.

Anyone else care to add.............

Oooh, sorry Pippa I sounded a right narky mare when I wrote in my last post - sorry! In my defence I was on the phone to a miserable git at work, so blame him! ;-) x

Honetly, I am not that protective of my Lonsalde get-up :-P
How about smock tops - yuk!!!!!!!! Even if your slim you look either fat or pregnant. WHY?
Agree with you both hundreddolla & natalie!

I do cringe at my purchases as a teenager. I distinctly remember a bright red shiny cotton boiler suit, silver pedal pushers, tartan baggy trousers and god-awful stretch skinny fit high waisted jeans worn with winkle picker stilettos!

However I am particularly proud of the photo of me with a permed mullet & shoulder pads *ouch*.

DEFINITELY clubbing clothes to work. Or clothes that show off a bit too much at work!
Sally ~ I wore a smock top yesterday and was asked when I am due.

Ok, so I am curvy (read that as porky) but I state to everybody yet again NEVER ask a woman when she is due, don't even remark on a pregnancy unless you see a baby coming out of her.

The top is now in the bin... lol
Lol - did you really chuck the top? Maybe I need a little sort of of the wardrobe today now - you have got me worried!!
I haven't actually thrown it away ~ it is in Mr Pippa's rag box, which he uses for cleaning car parts...lol

Mrs Dolla who is ahem "Rubenesque" wears those smock tops, i can't stand them, as mentioned before they would make twiggy look like Fern Britten. She was having none of it until about 6 months ago when an elderly lady stopped her in our cornershop to question "Oh, so when is it due?" Laugh?!?!? I almost sh@t!!
It's a shame, as us plumpies thought that smock tops were a blessing sent from heaven.

Oh well, back to the drawing board..or a diet!
hideously long square nails & nail art - does that count?
example, ugh!

I don't care how intricate the work is it's horrible...no one can possibly function properly with them (the mind boggles) & it's high time the trend disappeared...

Pippa - Have you tried Kimono tops? Especially with a "built in" belt. Mrs Dolla loves these as they are slimming and will give even the porkiest of gals a waist!
Oh yes ~ I have a couple of those! basically any top that spreads out under the boobs makes you look hideously fat if you have big boobs.

The smaller the chest, the less fat you look.
Yea - at last a reason to be happy with small ones!!!! Yippee!!!!
Hand full of gold rings especialy soverigns now that looks tacky
People that wear trainers with the huge tongues half way up their legs........That really gets on my nerves !
And women in their 50's or 60's that dress like teenagers. Growing old gracefully looks much better..sorry !

Sovereign rings! I'd completely forgotton about them!

"A hand full of cheap gold, rings and clunky bracelets. Too many earrings, YSL jumper tucked into jeans, greasy curtains style haircut, and a pair of Reebok Classics"

Oh, and that goes for both the women and the men!

Just been into the town centre - Tracksuit bottoms and dress shoes / loafers! That's a great look!
I'm a little embarassed after reading this thread! I myself have a shooting star tattoo on my foot (was done when i was 17, should have given it more thought), a lip piercing (soon to be taken out, as i look a little 'thuggish'), wear smock tops, drainpipe and high- waisted jeans. Ouch!

What really gets on my wick is footless tights and denim skirts. It never looked good.

And the chavs bastardising all new trends. They better not attack my 'vintage' look.

Also too much makeup... grr. Being a trainee makeup artist, this is the worst.
yep skinny jeans, leggings, and all the psychedelic patterned smock tops that have been 'in' for a while, I'm a bit of an auld hippy and cant find anything i like in the shops at all

Don't worry too much Shady - My friend got the Superman symbol tattooed on his upper arm, and then was slightly peeved when EVERYONE he met from then on said "Big Bon Jovi fan, huh?" It seemed he didn't realise that Jon Bon Jovi has the same tattoo!
