I want to make a hippie style flower head garland for my wedding in augut using tiny white silk flowers. I don't even know where to start looking for them! ( i want the ones that have green wire for stalks so i can twist them together) any suggestions or advice? thanks in advance! Karen
I believe that sia is the name to look for when looking for silk flowers. I have a catalogue but dont know where it is as am packing up house, in the vatalogue they have the most beautiful hair pieces for weddings. On googling it appears they have lots of stockists.
You know you can wire small fresh flowers? I made a wedding bouquet for a friend years ago and I wired all the flowers the night before and bound the stems in green florist tape and kept them fresh by spraying with cool water
Hobbycraft sell flowers and other shapes which can be strung together. They also sell patches of felt in all sorts of colours, so that you could make your own.
I also made my own headdress out of real ivy which trailed to the floor. It looked lovely.
Florists sell wire & green sticky tape. Thread the wire thru base of flower and twist short length of wire around longer length to firm. Cover wire with green tape - do same with foliage. Twist lengths of flowers & wires arranging them as long as you want.
