Has anybody else been telephoned by Tesco today and offered free petrol/goods to the value of £70.00?.
The stipulations are that you only have until midnight Friday to take advantage of the offer and you have to quote the reference number given by the caller
It has to be a con doesn't it ?

It's a con. Why would they give you £70 for nothing?

Thank you for replying to my question
There wasn't a call back number as I actually spoke to the caller
However when I tried ring back I was advised that the call was from a "network that was unable to transmit numbers"
I know it's a con I was just interested to see if anybody else had received a similar call
How would Tesco have your number?
Question Author
Hi Panic Button
I queried that with the caller who responded by saying that it was a random telephone number selection and that they "did this all the time"
I know it a load of cobblers and no we won't be visiting Tesco before midnight this Friday

if you or anyone else gets calls & can establish the number by dialling 1471 then go to this site to find out who is calling - have used it loads of times especially from 0845 numbers that turned out to be british gas customer care. take a look. http://whocallsme.com/default.aspx
