I have just had to buy a brownie uniform and I am absolutly disgusted at the price.

A hooded top was £17 (nothing better than you can get anywhere) and a body warmer (less warm 'gilet') £13.50

I can't believe that these things are so expencive. When I was a brownie we had a cotton dress, leather belt, tie and a hat and even then the equvelent was only about a fiver. Not even that really as there was always second hand about.

£50 in one fowl swoop.

Fowl? As in chickens? ;-)

But yep, I feel your pain, I spent that much on my daughters Rainbows (pre Brownies) uniform last summer, and oddly enough, im having to go and buy her some new trousers as the ones i bought are now too small.
don't forget when you were little, a fiver was probably worth more than a fiver today. I'm also quite surprised you remember how much your parents paid for you brownie uniform, as i wouldn't have a clue.
I'm not the spelling police, but you might like to know the expression is "one fell swoop"
go into most childrens clothes shops and a top is about £12 upwards and a body warmer would be a lot more than £13.50

I dont see that as being expensive really though Im sure that you could find second hand if you needed to.
Just popped into town, and bought said Rainbows trousers, thirteen bloody quid!

I don't go to childrens cloths shops they are too expencive. Primark, Matalan and Tesco are about my limit :(

The hoodie for £17 is overpriced as far as I am concerned but that is what it is :(

I tried freegle and the school newsletter but had no luck. I think because they are so expencive people try to sell them to recoupe some of the initial outlay.

Anyway it is done now. I did get a larger size than she needs now so hopefully I won't have to get any later!
Did you even think to look on ebay?
Can't speak for cassa but I certainly did.

When you factor in the cost of the P&P, it really wasn't (In my case anyway) all that much cheaper buying from Ebay.
