Selling banned items
12 Answers
I'm trying to sell an item that's banned on ebay. Nothing major, they ban it under 'weapons', but it's just a really really old policeman's truncheon. Hardly a weapon of mass destruction! Is there any other place when I can sell it? Urgenly, please, I fear I may get 'pre-emptively' bombed by coalishun forces at any minute.

There is so much worse sold on ebay that they dont bother doing anything with that you will be fine. They dont check your entrys unless they are reported and so long as you make clear it is old you will be fine. The weapons rule is not designed to cover this sort of thing.
Hmm. Maybe I should try again cassimer. They seemed to be running a filter on 'truncheon' (since I notice that they list it as 'potentially infringing' (isn't that the job title of a part time hairdresser?)
It got banned within about 10 hours, and they sent me a warning. I think someone wanting to commit a major crime could well be interested in my antique truncheon.
But...wait a minute....couldn't he buy a tennis racket on ebay and go out and attack someone?
I notice that the gun salesmen started 'black plastic bags' on ebay, throwing in a pistol for free! LOL. Then the cops stepped in.
