New duvet, duck feather & down...although when i got it home and unpacked it, it smells awful !!! Why does it stink ??? Is it rotting ??

Try hanging it over a clothes-horse to let it air or better still hang it outside tomorrow, weather permitting. Where did you buy it?

dooovet is not wet, nor damp,. ducks are waterproof...aren't they?
Seriously, it came in a vacuum sealed bag, hopefully the smell will fade...
I got a new one a couple of months ago, it too was vacuum sealed, mine didn't smell at all, maybe take it back!.............don't think it should be smelly!................
don't you mean a duuuckvet. should not smell. bought a new one few weeks ago - hungarian down - not a single hint of paprika
man made filling far superior and doesn't stink
I've got a feather one, and it certainly didn't stink. Did you get it from a reputable place? Mine was from John Lewis.
