Applique Double Sided Interfacing

Hi,
I make handbags and want to do a very small piece of applique on one of them, no more than 6" square - I don't want to buy a yard of DS interfacing as I would probably never use it again so would anyone know if I could cheat and use Wonderweb (the inch wide stuff cheats (!!) take hems up with) for this?
