Well..come on folks ...where are all the people who campaigned for this category...the card makers, needleworkers, knitters, modelmakers, antiques collectors.Any balsawood kite makers out there !!!
I only ever used balsarwood once, to make a barometer at school in the juniors, we had to build a box thing and we had to buy a small plastic oil can (empty) what were we making? Anyone else in Mr Cromptons class 2A2 at Ormskirk Greetby Hill in 1964?
Ha ha ......it is a bit of a search ..but I'm sure a modelmaker will turn up shortly ! Failing that I'll just have to knit away on my own ! Do you think there are any flint knappers or saggermakers bottom knockers out there :)
Please shaneystar, what are saggermakers bottom knockers ? I've met the flint knappers - well not personally - but the other or should that be others ??????
btw I enjoy most hand crafts, esp. wool embroidery, lace making, making rosettes for horse shows - can't watch TV without doing something with my hands - if I try, it usually means chocolate - not good !!!
thanks shaneystar. that was most informative - you have an advantage with all the old crafts even if some are becoming outdated - we young'uns never had them to lose, more's the pity !!!
yep Jude
...here, hold this wool up please while I wind it...
oops, think the moths have been in here, it's all in short little strands.
(hehe - I remember that happening to my mum's wool)
Take those sprouts out of yer lughole then !!
Crikey ..I thought we were doomed to muddle along with Yohoo .I hope we all haven't had withdrawal symptoms ..I had to down lots of gin and chs to keep my metabolism going !
Yippee - back home again - Is AB going off air every weekend to stop the fighting?? Have new appointment for my op - it's 31st May so am now getting nervous again.
