old style coins

hi. does anybody know which old style coins you can and cannot still spend today, such as the old larger 50 pence pieces and in particular the old �2 coins from 1986. think i know, just want to clarify for a friend. thanks people.

You can't spend the larger style 50p or 10p or 5p, you'd have to ask in a bank about the old �2 coins, as these were a special issue.

The �2 coin are still legal tender.

I am un sure. I have loads of the old �2 coins and trying to find a home for them. the banks won't take them, nor will any shop.

Everyone has suggested coin dealers, but I have been unable to find a coin dealer that will take them either....
