Is Islam the UKs most subscribed religion?

I know that Muslims only make up around 2-3% of the UKs population but how does that percentage compare with regular worship in the UK.

Not a million miles away from where I live they hold an Islamic festival each year which attracts around 50,000 Muslims over the weekend. I doubt if theres a gathering of any religious denomination in the UK that would attract such numbers.

People may put down Christian on census form which fudges the figures somewhat, but as a practised religion is Islam the UKs largest?

It seems that more Muslims will go to regular worship, on a percentage basis, IMO, than Christians do, these days.

I think maybe there are Christian festivals which attract people. Certainly Greenbelt attracts about 20000.

The Roman Catholics do quite well. There's about 4.2 million Catholics in Britain (2001 census) and average attendance at Sunday Mass is about 861,000 (source: Christian Research, 2007). But Christian Research found that over 960,000 Muslims attended the mosque once a week or more, and that was in 2004.

Muslims make up over 30% of the prison population of the UK.
A fact that is not offten advertised , I have worked in a prison and i know for a fact this figure is true. A far higher % of the Muslim population are in prison than any other group.

I knew quiet a few that are in for fraud , I was working in an open prison where there are no violent offenders. I hear there are a lot in for violent crime.
Hence the fact that the % in high security jails is higher.
This is the despair of prison chefs who only get £2 a person a day to provide 3 meals but have to provide Muslim meals as well all for no extra money.
A good 'dodge' for non Muslim prisoners is to try to get to be behind a Muslim when bacon is on the menu, the Muslim will refuse it so the next in line gets an extra portion. Some Muslims are now demanding that totally seperate cooking facilities are provided for them so that there can be no contamination by pork products. Pork is very popular with prison chefs as it is the cheapest meat available.

Maybe there are many non-muslims who enjoy the festivals, just like non-christians enjoy Christmas.

What a stupid question - the Pope comes over here and attracts zero people, I don't think so, and I am not even Catholic, or even religious.

Roman Catholics are not stupid! They go to Mass regularly to be sprinkled by the priest because it's a bloody sight cheaper than having to buy your own soap and towel, not to mention what they must save on the water rates.
