Chinese People

Why do Chinese people have different shaped eyes. This is a serious question.  We are having this conversation in work and it was suggested it was to do with the brightness of the sun and glare etc but by that token I would have thought most Africans would surely have the same appearance, in fact probably more so.

With all due respect, your answers are valid only if you believe in the theory of evolution.  Being religious I believe that we are all descended from Adam and Eve and therefore, the notion that a person's physique will eventually adapt to their environment does not hold any bearing with me or those persons who have a faith.

Monday morning and just logged into the AB.  Wow, didn't realise that my questions would have caused such a commotion!  I do respect Caity's opinion although i still feel my question was was correct to post.  i did realise that genetics was involved although was looking for a wee bit more detail.  Thanks Corbyloon for backing me up. Features, such as those possessed by Asians can be the result of various environments and diets, not just desert but frozen, possibly spending much time in 2 or 3 environments.
As for the religious aspect, I can't recall god saying that the environment would or could not change our features.
