It seems that most group such as the EDL has an opposition group, in this case the Anti Fascist group.

Bearing this in mind, is there a place for a 'Straight Pride March' to oppose the 'Gay Pride March'?

What is there to oppose?
Of course not, Gay Pride is not a protest its a celebration.

What do you want to oppose?

Also, in what way do straight people need to fight for their rights? What would be the aim of march?
One could argue that they're celebrating being straight Maydup.

Oppose????

Oppose what?
I'd agree with the author of the article:

//There is no real celebration here. Only a narrow petulant defence of privilege. If this is “pride”, then no, we really don’t need it.//

According to the organisers, a straight pride march would:

“raise awareness of the heterosexual part of society and assure that ...their views are heard”.

They object to the fact that homosexuals “have more rights then [sic] any sector of society”.

Do you know the ways that homosexuals have more rights than straight people?
What about a straight pride march to support the aims of gay pride - does that make sense
Bunch of immature stirrers. There website says they want:
''the right to take over city streets, dress ridiculously, and parade with danger and contempt, invade hotels and B&Bs run and owned by people who object to homosexuality, and then sue them when refusal is given”.
But mightn't the participants in any straight pride march be open to the accusation that they do protest too much?

Are you saying that a 'Gay Pride March' opposes Straight peoples lifestyle?
I assumed this was a bunch of students with a satirical sense of humour, taking the mickey out of people who object to gay pride marches. Evidently not. Ah well, since when have homosexuals had more rights than the rest of us?
This could be tricky as a 'straight pride' march could be seen as a criticism of 'gayness' at least by 'gay pride' enthusiasts. Only one step away from racism whereas of course a 'gay pride 'march is nothing of the sort ....is it?

Reading the article they aren't marching because they are proud to be straight....
But like the others say....let them get on with it but lets hope there will be no gay bashing after loads of alcohol is consumed.
My understanding is the gay pride march is to celebrate the fact that they no longer have to hide what they are (perhaps I have this wrong)

Since when do 'straights' have to hide what they are?
OK, after all these years I am going to come out in public, I'm straight!
I feel no pride about being straight but I'm glad I am. I'm glad I haven't had to live in a world where I've had to make it publicly known that I'm not ashamed of who I am.
You are not kidding anyone BlueToffee - get back in your closet!
