The advice given by a few regards Emergency accessories in your car due to this weather, did it catch you out, did you think it will not happen to me, it can happen to anyone take it from me, a report from a motorist that went from Blackpool over the M62 towards Leeds, got stuck due to the weather with no provisions as it was ONLY a short journey, motorists in the West country stuck for 10hrs, I just wonder did they have the sense to fill their Fuel tank up due to the weather.

Even doing bus journeys a small flask in my handbag. I was stuck for over an hour outside London and it was very welcome. When I went out with my ex in bad weather we had the 'winterbox' fleece blankets, small shovel, chocolate biscuits, two small rolls of carpet, and a large thermos of hot water teabags milk pots, and cup soups. A large bottle of water and a full petrol can. Never needed it but it was reassuring to know it was there.
LOL @ Maggie ;-)
I've always got some extra warm clothing in the boot of my car, along with a foil blanket, cans of drink, etc. One of the advantages of being a natural hoarder is that I never take the stuff out. (There are also dozens of hi-vis vests and jackets, plus a first aid kit and various other things which might be useful in an emergency).
However I probably took the most sensible course anyway. I told myself on Monday that I would stock up on my shopping and then not leave the house at all until today. This morning I decided that I still didn't fancy the 4-mile trip to Lidl and Asda in the car, so I walked 3 minutes down the road and paid Co-op prices instead. I doubt that I'll use my car until early next week.
