BTW I visited 'your' rock garden twice in October but there was no sign of a gardener. I thought he had gone into hibernation but these excellent photos prove that not to be the case.
Lastly, the elms, How did they survive the Dutch Elm Disease? Up here in Fife, we no longer see mature elm trees, just a few saplings. Is the Cornish elm immune?
Thanks for the comments guys.
Gen....we do lose the odd Elm but both Brighton and Eastbourne are the last towns with a good collection therefore a stringent DED practice is in operation.
We did lose a large cornish elm this year....it got on the local news and i'm pretty sure that one of the few remaining huge English Elms has DED too.....i just prey i'm wrong as it really is a majestic specimen at around 300 years old.
Next time you're in the garden, give me a bit of advance notice on here and i'll show you round.
