I saw Tommy Cooper 3 times in cabaret. He was miles better than when he was on TV. And he did some fantastic magic that you never saw on TV either. So funny. So good. So sad.
Am I to believe we are wishing THE Tommy Cooper happy birthday?
I'm sure he's dead, don't one do this when they are still alive, and reached there 100th?
A very funny man the likes of who we will never see again, he's up there with people like Les Dawson who apparently was an accomplished pianist just as Tommy was in the Magic Circle , happy 100th big fella
As the Queen said 'recollections may vary'. We saw Tommy Cooper years ago at a nightclub in Luton. He was very funny for about 5 mins and then he went off and didn't come back on stage until the audience were cheering and calling for 'more'. And he did this over and over again. Was never a fan after that evening.
Tommy and Eric Sykes in The Plank is an absolute work of genius (I know it was Eric's genius behind it, but without Tommy's comedy timing, it wouldn't have worked half as well)
Foxlee, he was a very heavy drinker and became unreliable, refusing to return to stage after 5 minutes if he bothered to turn up at all. Maybe he was drinking when you saw him.
