.............Christian Eriksen? The headline in one Sunday paper said "Praying for you Christian". Well, I wasn't. I don't mean that in a bad way. I was hoping for a speedy recovery. Wishing him well. But praying? The writer might have been praying but it was an over-emotional headline, I thought. Glad he seems to be recovering well now. Shame that he is unlikely to play again. The media shouldn't assume that everyone is praying, though.

I agree entirely. I wish Cristian Eriksen the speediest of recoveries (I'm a Tottenham fan, so I've cheered him on many times), but I wouldn't pray for anybody, as I believe it is utterly pointless.
who? ah - a footballer!
I have been thinking of him and willing him well, but I don't pray either.
He seems to be recovering well. Was it an underlying heart condition??
As an atheist, I never pray.

Sometimes writers get over-emotional about the stories they write.

The late Linda Lee-Potter once wrote in the Mail - 'Everyone remembers where they were when they heard that Rachel Nikel wa murdered ...'

Er .... no.
It looks probably Smow. It was definitely a cardiac arrest.
It doesn't matter how it was worded. It was a gesture that sent the right message - that people care. What a frustratingly picky world we live in with everyone expected to tread on eggshells. Please one, you upset someone else. It's all so silly.
I agree with Naomi. It's the sentiment that was important, and looking at the video that Christian posted today, it was very welcome.
Pray, To Pray, derives frm an old English word to request, entreat or implore.
He had a cardiac arrest.....it happens.
It was a bid deal.....for HIM....but not for me.
No, I didn't pray for him, I haven't prayed for anyone mainly because I am an atheist.
I have said many times that I cannot understand AB emotions, they being unselective and repetitive which makes me question the sincerity.
Reminds me of when Madeleine McCann went missing. The Archbishop of somewhere said he’d pray for her and the parents. Oh, that’ll help. Not
Praying for Christian can be taken as truthful or metaphorically. He deserves our prayers.
