Dublin Again

Well Co Wicklow actually. Spent a gorgeous day up in the Wicklow mountains, turning green with envy at the Guiness private estate on Lough Luggala. Taking in Powerscourt House & it's magnificent gardens. Paddling in one of the loughs at Glendalough basking in the hot sunshine.
Had a mouth watering lunch of a huge beef & Guinness pie and a late supper of mixed fresh seafood platter. All washed down with a Black Velvet!

Been several times and always enjoyed it. One of my favourite hotels is to the south of Powerscourt (and also Avoca - where Ballykissangel was filmed - have you been there, Sharon?) is Marlfield House.

Its sumptuous - full of antiques to the point of one more and it would be too much - yet the parents of the current management welcomed young children with open arms and so engaging that they are as a team - great food as well - think they have a Michelin star now.

Glad you're having a wonderful time, Sharon. We love Glendalough. We'd stay in a Wilderness Lodge and go looking for White Tailed Sea Eagles. It's where I had a strange and surreal experience involving MrsO.
Howth's great, especially for the cricket and when we beat England!
My last trip to Dublin started on the one and only time I "put my back out" as they say. I got from the hotel to Vicar Street theatre by crawling from pub to pub. A genuine pub crawl much to the embarrassment of the daughter.
Have fun!
