going up to Manchester yesterday morning, daughter who was driving let out a yell. I asked her what was that for, she said she had just seen 2 cocker spaniels on the hard shoulder just before the Nantwich/ Crewe turnoff.
She loves animals so got very upset that they would be hurt. Not knowing who else to phone she rang the police. They were very helpful and said they would deal with it.
Later in the day when we were coming home there were lots of signs saying
Animals on carriageway. This went on for miles and miles. We never saw any animals though.
Out of curiosity I investigated. On line there were reports of dogs and goats
On the motorway. I wondered if they were the same dogs.
Hi Caran. My son was driving on a motorway when he spotted a dog cowering in the central reservation. He had to rescue it so he did.
Couldn't find an owner and not being able to keep it he asked his girlfriend's mother to take it. She did willingly though nearly had second thoughts when at Christmas it jumped through the Christmas tree...stripped it of decorations and ran off wrapped in the fairy lights. :-)
Hi gness. I know if she could have, she would have stopped, but we were almost passed it and the traffic was too heavy. She is a real animal nut, she has 4 dogs and 3 cats. She has said she would have taken them home if we had been able to stop.
Oh I wasn't saying she should have stopped, Caran. I wouldn't. It's far too dangerous. My son thinks he's immortal. :-)
What your daughter did is more than most would do in that situation. Well done her.
You and OH okay? He's not off on any more driving adventures?
Yes we are both ok thank you. He is off on his travels to France for 10 days in May, then off again in September for 9 days to a different area of France. There soon won't be a part of France he hasn't been to.
I know gness, I really enjoy his holidays. I eat what and when I want. Get up when I want and just really make the most of it.
Don't get me wrong I wouldn't be without him but we all need "ME" time.
We wouldn't be without ours either, Caran but tonight when we were discussing it and someone said...what are we going to do when the chaps are away the answer was...relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. :-)
