The couple of girls I know from Nuneaton have an accent, but it's not Brummie. My boyfriend does though and he lives near Stafford (the other direction), so maybe they do?

i would think the people from nuneaton would tend to speak with a liecester accent, but dont quote me on it..

whiskeysheri..... if i remember correctley your bf lives in rugeley where we have a mix of brummie and stoke accents.

I know someone from Nuneaton and she has a strong Midlands accent. I moved to Shropshire 7 years ago from Bedfordshire and all my family say I sound like a Brummie.x

The people I know from Nuneaton have Nuneaton accents. And as a Brummie, I am frequently driven to distraction by what other people not fortunate enough to have been born in our great city consider to be a Brummie accent! The BBC is among the worst offenders.......

The East Midland accent is very distinctive, and though it has certain features in common with Brummie it is in fact quite different in many respects. You probably have to be a Midlander to pick the subtleties which distinguish Nuneaton, Leicester and Coventry, for instance, but you could never confuse any of these with Brummie.

thanks all, thing is narolines, I don't know anyone from nuneaton, so I wouldn't know what a nuneaton accent is, whereas I know what a birmingham accent is. I probabaly would be able to tell the difference once I hear it.

The same applies all over, an east London accent is not the same as a west london accent. But I get the gist.
