Wilcox, Ella Wheeler (1850 - 1919) American poet, born in Wisconsin,whhose many volumes of romantic, sentimental, and mildly erotic verse (with titles such as Poems of Passion and Poems of Cheer) brought her a vast readership. She also wrote short stories and novels, and two volumes of autobigraphy.
