Where are all the nice guys?

Me and my friend have both decided that we need to meet and make new friends as we are both so sick of the usual crowd of young annoying drunk guys in our town. The same old crowd that goes out at the weekend and the same old drunks you get trying to chat you up.

We want to meet older mature guys. Ones who aren't into a weekly p!ss up with the lads in the local club. But... apart from wine bars and the golf club we can't think of where to find these potentially perfect older mature men! Any ideas?

We have decided to go to some of the nice wine bars in the area and maybe to try and go on a day we know that the football is on. If they are in the wine bar and not watching the football then thats good enough for me! Lol

Whenever i go for a night out i often say that i am glad i don't need to be looking, i count my blessings and feel sorry for anyone having to try to find one. they say there are pleny more fish in the sea but you never know how many times they've been thrown back in.

The thing is.. I'm not actually 'looking'.. I am just sick of the same old crowd. There is one main night club in town where I live and then thats surrounded by about 5 pubs. You are guaranteed to see the same old group of people day in and day out. I need to branch out and widen my circle of friends.

You could try the local bowls club or is that too old ?

Lol. Peter I'm afraid thats a little to old for me. I think my total limit is 39. I am 21.. but late 20's early 30's would do nicely. ;o)

Yeah I guess so! But that means I need to save up money, go away, look for someone and then see if the long distance thing works! I am just trying to get a bigger circle of friends with some nice guys in it preferably. I am changing jobs too and think I am going to join the local threatre group. I would love to do that.

Very true Dot and I do believe that you find more when you aren't looking but at the same time I am not going to find anything at all if I don't change the scenary!

you're right, if you want to meet nive mature guys for more than friendship. blokes in clubs all tend to be after just one night stands. How about joining a club at your local college.

Kazzianne - The local gym is like �50 a month for a silver membership and I used to be a member but its the same old stale atmosphere and you get that crowd of sad guys in the corner lifting weights whilst watching themselves in the mirror. I can't be doing with that again. Lol. Our bowling is in the local arcades place. Its normally full of kids and only has about 10 lanes. Shame. I like bowling though.

Steve208 - I am in Surrey. I just found that they do salsa in our local town and its �6 for a class for beginners. I might give it a go. If anything else it will be a laugh. Lol

Rugeley boy... if the missus lets you out to play, do you fancy some salsa? Lol ;o)

4getmenot - Thats exactly what the guys in our town are like. The same old 18-25yr olds p!ssing it up and then having a fight in the street afterwards! Classy!

hey ruby rose ....i fit the 18-25 bracket but do not get ****** up every week....drink a bit but in moderation....prefer wine bars and classey restaurants to smoke filled pubs

Its the older ones that annoy me - they go to clubs with their friends but they're married - push off and go and spend some time with your wife and let the singletons get on with it!
