Has anyone ever met anyone famous that they admired, but having met them they proved to be complete divas, bad attitude etc?

Two fairly famous people I met who proved my preconceptions wrong were;
i)Tom Jones, thought he would be nice, turned out to be an arse, and
ii)Noel Gallagher, thought he would be an arse, turned out to be nice. anyway, there ya go.
Some years ago Ronnie Barker, Ronnie Corbet and some other well known people were at a charity golf match when I went to pick my daughter up from her weekend waitressing job. Loads of little kids were all gathered round them asking for autographs and Ronnie Corbett was horrible to them, told them to get out of his f******g way, he hadn't got time for them. The other blokes were lovely with the kids.

this will mean nothing to most of you.....

I met bob warman (local news anchor man) in birmingham and he was a really nice bloke!!

oh, and also... i feel bad talking about the deceased!! but i once had to do a delivery to shuborough hall and the late Lord Lichfield gave me a right b0llocking for driving into the wrong driveway, not the tradesman entrance!! i felt he was a right pompouse git!!

I met Brian Molko from the band Placebo.

He was quite arrogant and told some other fans "It's rude to point" when they pointed him out when he came out of the hotel.

:Ace:

RB, i know Bob Warman, i always thought he seemed like a lovely bloke and now i know for sure!

I met Ronnie Corbett a few years' back - I agree with horselady, he's an @rse. Also met Darren Day, who was also a complete **** (I haven't even got a word in mind here - but you get the idea!) - but that one didn't surprise me!!! ;)
yeah purplelily but the question was did you admire them in the first place, we already knew Darren Day was a big @rse!! lol no big surprise there!!!!!! I haven't met anyone famous really but i am hoping too on May 27th at soccer aid. I tend to get a bit starstruck!!!
Hi LaLa, I have worked for a lot of famous people including, Lulu, John Cleese, john Frieda, Dusty Springfield, Lady Antonia fraser, harold Pinter, frankie Howard, Eric Sykes, Spike Milligan and quite a few others, the nicest one, without a doubt Lulu, she just came into the kitchen with her pyjamas on and made us tea, I worked for her quite a lot when she was married to john Frieda, and she was allways very friendly and not one bit stuck up, as for Harold Pinter, No comment, anothe one that was allright was Lord Bath, (Longleat) absolute eccentric.
Just remembered another two not that I worked for them, but I used to do a bit of scouting For QPR and Les Ferdinand & Gerry Francis, Two absolutely smashing blokes, really down to earth,Nice geezers!!

I once met Paul Mcgrath in Pizza Hut in Basingstoke.

He seemed pretty cool

Les Ferdinand Ray Mmmmmmmmm, very tasty, a Leicester player too!
A thread on Film and TV has just reminded me that whilst on holiday in Malta we saw Benny from Crossroads (Paul someone or other) and he was really nasty when anyone spoke to him or asked him if they could take a picture or get an autograph. He was always drunk and was surrounded by 'minders'.
hI julie, i am not kidding you I met Les several times and he is a genuinely nice bloke, he spent several years at QPR (my club) and even after he left and the club were struggling he gave the club a few grand, you never read that in the papers do you! but yea you would like him a lot, always smiling and so nice to the boys i was taking for trials, take care, Ray xx
Sir Les
Yes Cyborg Sir Les, good title for an autobiography eh??? It is a good read as well and a really apt title

Hi LaLa, Sorry for hijacking your post, got carried away,, what do you mean you should be!!!

apologies once more,I won't do it again, honest, Ray

I drove Arthur Smith back to his hotel from a gig a while ago. I was expecting an arrogant, cocksure bloke, but he was really nice. I apologised for my scummy car, but he said that was OK, thanked me profusely (and even asked - and remembered - my name) and wanted to know all about the nearby museum. A real gentleman.
Apparently Daniel O'Donnell has time for hardly anyone. He comes in, does the show, signs a set number of autographs and goes.
Met Richard Whiteley in the Queens Hotel in Leeds he was a true gentleman, I also met Paul Daniels once in Knaresborough and his wife "the very lovely Debbie McGee" he was a real gent and his wife is a lovely lady in every sense of the word.

The most ignorant obnoxious piece of sh** I ever met was Eric Cantona when he played for Leeds, if ever a man considered himself to be gods representative on earth this toerag is it.
