Trying to identify a place seen from the air
Coming into Stansted Airport the other evening I noticed a place I would like to identify if possible
Unfortunately, we were circling before landing, so I am not sure exactly where we were! I think it was to the east or north-east of Stansted, but I am not certain, nor do I know quite how far away from the airport we were.
There was a river (or possibly a canal) with a curved branch off it which seemed to lead to a dead end with some buildings, and this curved bit was lined with what looked like lots of narrowboats.
If I saw it on a map I think I would recognise the layout, but I don't quite know where to start. If someone can identify the place with such a small amount of useful information to go on, I would be grateful. (And amazed!).

Thanks very much to you both. Fitzer - you are absolutely right - I am having trouble using Google Earth at the moment but looking at Little Hallingbury on Multimap.com and then switching to the aerial photo option, then zooming in, it is definitely the place.
Gosh - isn't the Answerbank wonderful!!!!
On the Hallingbury Marina website
http://www.hallingburymarina.co.uk/photos.htm
there is an aerial photo which is almost exactly as I saw it - as well as other very nice photos of the marina and the mill.
When people whinge - as they do - about what a terrible place the internet is, I will use this as an example. In less than 24 hours I have found out something that would have taken for ever, if at all, without the web.
Thanks again.
