It means that the film can only be watched by minors under 12 if they are accompanied by an adult (over18).
A lot of times , (like last week when we went to watch Pirates of The Caribbean) the cinema staff let kids under 12 into the showing when their parents have just dropped them off and paid for their tickets! There were loads of these kids in the cinema then and no adult in sight, it was really annoying as they were little pains. This has happened to us a lot as we do go to the Cinema often, it is annoying as the film obviously has some aspect of the storyline that requires you to be able to listen and concentrate, which isn't easy when a group of smelly nine year old boys are throwing popcorn at each other , swapping seats and farting .
Enjoy the movie, the reviews have been good and I shall be taking my grandson next week when he gets back from Scotland, he is called Brandon like the new Superman and is also a big Smallville fan.
