You are not obliged to answer questions you don't like. However, it may fairly be added that the answers to that particular question have been generally serious. Perhaps that's the best way to show an unwitting poster what this site appears to be about.
I have to agree....while it's not an offence to be childish it is a waste of space to allow an obviously false question to push questions from the top 20 list that might still be waiting to be answered......many more serious questions have been pulled for much, much less.
I have to say that I am disappointed but not suprised.
I've revisited the question and answers. I don't see many serious answers. The question itself appears to me to be written in a manner that is designed to be shocking. If the questioner was serious I'm sure that the question would have been phrased differently.
I have no problem with discussing bodily functions or helping people find sensible answers to their problems ...... after all, we all have them. However, looking at the tone and content of that particular question I think that the Ed should have taken one of three options. 1. Pull the question. 2. Reword it. 3. Check with the questioner that it was a genuine & serious question.
I know that we all have the option not to respond to any particular question, but there will always be someone that wants to add a comment. That will encourage the questioner to apply his or her little mind to doing likewise in the future.
You will never stop idiot postings but they can be controlled by editorial means. Those of us that think the original question was undesirable can, through this medium, make our feelings known. We have to rely on the discretion of the Ab Ed who's actions will never please all the people all of the time. A difficult and thankless task !!
