Tamagotchi baby-sitting service?
Answering and message taking services Lada dealerships
telex machine dealers/repairers, Betamax video repairs?
Would clog manufacturer really be a category by itself? I'd have thought it would come under "Footwear".
Carbon paper supplies (have you tried buying any recently?Impossible)
If there were any clog makers in Britain 20 years ago, then I don't see why there shouldn't be any today. You make it sound as though clogs were common footware in the 1980s; I can assure you they weren't. As other answers indicate, it's more likely to be high-tec things which don't catch on which disappear from the Yellow Pages, rather than traditional items. Incidentally, there are plenty of places to buy carbon paper - Meadowgrover should do a search on Google.
Tottenham Hotspur trophy polishers!
Pyramid grouters apron manufacturers..........
BCCI memerobilia. Mirror Pension advisors. Polly Peck stationers.......
Message services - surgeons; telexes - shipping companies; carbon paper - many businesses; aprons - several trades Hmmm, rag n bone, bottle O, rabbit O, "night-carters", walk-in green grocery truck; were they around in the 80s?.
what about draughtsmen? I guess most tech drawing is done on pc's now. and reel to reel tape recorder repairers.
Typing services, whereby you would bring in a paper (for a university course, etc.) that you had written in "longhand" and have someone type it for you on a typewriter. Also, proof-reading and editing services, where people would check papers you've written (master's thesis, etc.) for proper spelling and grammar, and edit them as needed. Nowadays, word processing software will do all this automatically for you.
