Oh and Margarita Taylor (that annoyingly smiley person who used to present T4 with Dermot O'Leary and was a DJ on Capital FM) stood next to me at the traffic lights on Victoria Street eating a rather messy cornish pasty!
We shared a flight on Concorde with Liza Minelli and David Gest - my friend Dan went and had a chat and a cigarette with her in the smoking room in the lounge at JFK - alas I had given up two years previously. David Gest did borrow my newspaper in-flight though - cheapskate! We were sitting right behind them.
In the early seventies I worked in Harrods and hardly a day passed without seeing someone or other. One day (actually it was my 19th birthday) I glanced over my counter and Jane Asher was standing looking at the t-shirts, or rather seemed to be trying to give the impression she was but kept slyly glancing to her left. I looked in that direction and who should be standing there but Paul Newman. Mega swoon!!!
I forgot, I met the lady who plays Elizabeth, the lady who lives next door to Hyacinth Bucket in 'Keeping Up Appearances'. She bought a bag in the shop I was working in and was quite posh.
My Mum knows Julian Clarey's Mum and Christopher Biggins' parents live near me. What an exciting life eh?
