Evel Knievel - dead or alive?

Does anyone know what happened to Evil Knievel - is he still going strong, retired or did he go out in a blaze of glory?

Robert 'Evel' Knievel is retired from stunt riding - he'll be sixty-five this year and has recently undergone a liver transplant after contracting hepatitis during one of his very many hospital visits during his career. Evel takes life easy these days, but he still rides his motorbike most days, albeit at a more sedate pace. Evel did have plans to jump out of a plane from 30,000 feet and land on one of a number of stategically placed haystacks (!) to promote a Las Vegas casino, but the Nevada Gaming Board vetoed the idea on safety grounds. Evel says he'll be content to live another twenty-five years, and if he had his time to come again, he'd wear protective clothing with a lot more than the minimal padding he used to wear for his stunts.
