Sorry to burst the bubble but the nickname 'smudge' is actually rather common.  In the Forces it was invariably given to anybody with the surname Smith.

Weaza - T'was not me. My nickname is in memory of our late cate Smudge.

Philtaz - When my brother was doing his National Service, his best mate was known as 'Smithy' or 'Smudge'.

P.S. I am female.

* I mean cat - well it is a lazy Sunday morning!

Aw well, just wondering. Interesting about the Smith/Smudge thing though; had no idea! But then, i do not know anyone in the forces.

P.S. I know you're female. So am I. What has that got to do with it?! Confused...

Weaza - I only mentioned I am female because you asked whether it was me who e-mailed Soccer with info on Submarines. I always think of 'only' men being couped up in them, like the old war films show. (Who is Soccer anyway - just interested to know?).

Also, I had completely forgotten about the Smith/Smudge nickname, but Philtaz jogged my memory.

P.S. I'll say cheerio for now, as AB Ed will no doubt  ban this tomorrow - it is a chatty thread after all. -x-

I asked whether you emailed Soccer am - a TV programme. Never mind, i was just wondering!

*surprised; thread not banned yet... Eds being suspiciously lenient...*
