Following on from another thread, I see so many anti Scottish comments, Ive always been aware of a little friction between England Scotland and Wales but I didn't realise it was quite so obvious.

No.....
too much hate RATTER,
I can't say I hate anyone, these nations are the same people as we are, with differing dialects.
Scotland is my favourite place on earth. And I doubt I would enjoy it there so much if I didn't like the scottish.
I have to say that I admire the Welsh for their sheer ingenuity in obtaining food, clothing and sexual pleasure all from the same animal.
I find the whinging about 'The English' from whatever quarter exceedingly annoying and tend to get short-tempered with whomever is doing the whining..........
I find that the Scots don't like the English more than the other way round

Personally, I have only visited Scotland once, a stunningly beautiful place!! The Scottish people I have known personally have usually been quite harsh, not very tolerant and lets say a tendency to have one too many drams :-) that will often lead to trouble, I think Scotland does have a problem with alcohol as does England but I think the problem is worst in Scotland.

I have been to Wales many times, I have always found the Welsh to be delightful and very friendly, helpful people, North wales is a little different with a little more dislike of the English.

I like the Scottish people and the country.
I strongly dislike how we subsidise them so heavily.
You may have opened a can of worms there, Mrs O. Light blue touchpaper and retire!
Do we subsidise them more than we do the English, Mrs O? Mornin', btw :)
Gosh is that the time?
I'd love to stay and contribute more to this debate but the....erm....shopping, yes the shopping beckons....
My perception is also that it is the other way round. I spent a summer in a small N Wales village and I was shouted at by kids 'English go home'. Can't imagine that happening in a reverse situation.
get us half a pound of flitch, will yer? Thanks.
Mornin' Prude :)
sure thing Arti
Morning Arti - what's flitch?

Pixi- "how do you mean harsh ratter? do you mean genuinely harsh or the way they speak?"

I think a bit of both to be honest. I know I'm swinging a huge tar brush around here, I know that not ever Scot is a mean horrible drunk, I'm not saying that ,its just a tendency that I have noticed.
