show of hands - how many women dreamt of big white wedding as a child?

its a known cliche that apparently all women have spent most of their childhood dreaming of a big white wedding...

its not true of course, but i do know for many it is true...and they dreamed of nothing else and even collected pictures of meruingues and flowers etc

so how many here felt like that as a child?...and how many still do?

im curious as to the general percentage of girls who felt/feel like this

I did and still do, although not the extent that I have actually made any mental plans or kept pictures of dresses or anything. Sadly it remains a distant dream.

I'm surprised at the amount of people who say no.

no, not at all, I had a school freind who used to tell us what names she was going to call her kids (once she had got married to the boy who she had a crush on)

again I also found that quite irking as well.

Yes I do remember 'planning' my wedding as a kid. At 14 I even had names for my four children! I got pregnant at 16, went on to have 3 more and, in fact, had 4 weddings!! Greedy or what?!

As a child and teenager I never dreamed of a white wedding at all. I got married at 20 and had a white wedding in a church, but my dress wasn't a huge great meringue - hate those !

didn't first time white dress but registry office... totally taken over by what my mother wanted... Next time... intimate little do for about 500 close friends, mega meringue and the sight of groom disappearing into the distance screaming noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

No never but I did have one (way too young - I spent the evening before hanging outside the house of a boy I fancied from youth club!!)
