I don't believe in God. I like this quote - I'm not an atheist, how can you not believe in something that doesn't exist.

Anyway, if I am wrong, I'm sure 'God' will be kind enough to forgive me lol!

Sith123 begun this posting and asked for friendly debate. I'm sorry for your
loss Sara and Trimeresurus , I never meant to cause offence. I have lost loved
ones too, but I draw comfort from my faith.

So, is believing in the fate the same as believeing in God?
Easiest question I've ever answered on AB.

No, I don't believe in god.

Why? because the very idea is patently absurd, and frankly, I've always felt that people that do are, well - I'm trying to be tactful, but don't think I can - stupid.
Tht's a rather mean thing to say flip, if you don't mind me saying. You can't prove that God doesn't exist, the same way I can't prove that he does. To mock me and what I believe in as "stupid" is therefore just as dense and quite frankly offensive.
I should qualify that.

Not 'stupid' as in thick. In fact, stupid was the wrong word to use.

How about delusional?

It never ceases to amaze that people believe in god without there being a single jot of evidence to prove it.
I don't think its necessary to disprove the existence of god, in much the same way as we don't have to disprove fairies at the bottom of the garden or leprachauns exist - all are equally ridiculous.

In fact, thinking about it, the very fact that there is not one iota of evidence to prove god's existence speaks volumes.
I don't believe in god, end of story really.
I used to...but not anymore.
No - As I have said before Aberfan convinced me that no god who was supposed to be good would do such a thing.
It amazes me that some think a creator should be at their beck & call to do the things they want, and when it seems a deity doesn't obey, they don't site that as proof of its nonexistence. Why would a creator keep coming back and interfering with its experiment? For example why would it extend the lives of those who are destined to leave at some point anyway ? How would that be "good" and not doing it "evil" ? This universe "works" in some form, and to do so it has perils, so we have to accept that. If there is a deity behind it all, then we may find out at some point. But to dismiss the very idea of anything outside of the physical, simply shows a lack of the imagination needed to tackle some of the big questions, and form hypotheses.
A deity themselves must have thought it funny to slip that "don't" in the paragraph where I would never have written it.
Thanks again for the lack of an edit facility.

And that must also account for the near freezing of the PC in order that I can not quickly post this.
OG I agree with your points, but that isn't the way he/she/it is portrayed. He is described as all seeing, all powerful and being every where. Every religion says you should pray because he is listening.

Hardly non interference.
Not for a single second could god exist or ever have existed, if he did exist he would be responsible for more deaths than any other living or dead being and would need to be executed for mass genocide!!
Not every religion - Catharists had a dualist philosophy that the world was the domain of Satan and that God was really rather disinterested but by living a pure life you could escape rebirth and reach him.

It had a lot of Budhist and Zoroastrian overtones and a rather neat answer to the why does God allow suffering question

Women had a major role in it and there was a lot going for it all in all.

So the Christians slaughtered them to a man
