Did you notice how uninterested Prince Philip was towards the crowds clapping and wishing him well, outside Church today ? I even noticed someone in a wheelchair waiting outside church. What is it about the Royal Family that makes people queue for hours in the cold and wet when certain members can't even be bothered to look at them ?

Fancy criticising a 90 year old bloke who's just had heart surgery.

Leave the chap alone.
I agree totally WBA, he's a very old man!......he should be sitting around and relaxing now!....still think at that age he must be slightly senile!...........
No, welsh - I can't help but disagree, senility doesn't come to everyone!
What on earth makes you think Phil is senile..............have you any evidence to substantiate this opinion?
If he *was * senile,I doubt very much he'd be out doing what he does.

According to Wiki...he carries out more than 300 engagements per year-second only to Princess Anne. Pretty good for an old guy who's senile.
At the age of 90, he has jolly well earned the right not to bloody wave if he decides not to. Woe betide me and my family (or anyone else for that matter) who try to make my 87 year old grandfather do something that might please someone else. He's done his own thing for at least the last 60 years so I damn well doubt he will change now.

What do you expect of a 90 year old who just had heart surgery, a clown outfit and cartwheels? For Funks Sake, next it'll be complaints that autographs weren't signed at the Queen Mum's funeral.
I've got a card purporting to come from the Queen (the Queen's office, I know she didn't send it personally) sent when my husband and I had been married for 60 years. My daughter arranged it as a surprise. It certainly was, as I am anti-royalist. I thought about trying to sell it on eBay - I bet some idiot would pay through the nose for it. And imagine it had been touched by Royal Hands (what a hope). However, I would build up their hopes if it would fetch more money. Cynical eh?
sorry, but he may well be senile, just because of his age!....he's doing what he always has, he can remember that!......he's always done it!....he's going through the motions!...........He's a very old man, and he's doing really well, but still think there must be some senility there!.........
lol welsh so because he's 90 you think he's senile................what a load of cods!
Why do people say he had an operation or heart surgery? He had a stent put in, quite a simple proceedure these days, most people are back to work in a week. Heart surgery is when they cut you from your throat to past your breast, they break your breastbone open to get to your heart, 9 times out of 10 they cut your leg from ankle to thigh to take your artert's out to replace the dodgy ones in your heart.P Phil would not have survived that at 90.
I know because I had open heart surgery 3 months ago and i'm still recovering.

jem
A stent goes in a vein in the groin and the incision is about 1 inch.
Here, welshy, I'm approaching that age fast (it goes quicker the older you get) and I am not senile - well not yet. Or perhaps I am and don't know it.
Get away with you Welsh. Just because he is 90 doesn't mean he is senile at all. Your generalist attitude is quite alarming.
//Cynical eh?// - Well you said it!
Nice photo of him glad handing with the public outside the church at the bottom of this page.

I still can't agree, welsh - he's very much on the ball, hardly going through the motions. You don't let senile people loose with a shotgun, and he was going to lead the Boxing Day shoot.....

and jem, I agree, but there are degrees of heart surgery. Any invasive procedure can be called an operation.
craft, sorry, but at his age, he probably is!.....most folk of that age are!......I know, I work with them every day!............
Maybe it's the people you care for, Welsh - the elderlies I know are still bright as buttons.
Fair doos welsh............if you were looking after me I'd probably pretend I was.
Yes welsh but those are the ones in care. There are thousands out there probably perfectly capable of living in their own homes without any degree of senility.
