Why do some Muslims believe that blasphemers should be killed?

I understand that some Islamic countries prescribe the death penalty for blasphemy. Is this because Sharia ordains it? If you are a Muslim do you agree with this?

keyplus i just got back and read your reply, i can't believe you don't realise that it is men that go amongst the missing, not women. One parent families are not usually dad and kids, but mum and kids, so not sure how who got to the preposterous conclusion that it is women's fault over the recent riots. That really takes some doing, blaming all the worlds ills on women, for ffff sake. No blasphemers should not be killed, no one should for protesting, saying what they think, being homosexual, or falling in love with the wrong man/woman, it's all total horlicks, you haven't a clue, and are most definitely in the wrong place.

my mum was 19 when she had my eldest brother, would she have been told then she was too young. how old should you be i wonder with your first child, second, or like some women now leave it till you are in your 30's or after. There is no set rule surely

Em – No one is blaming women for anything. I am talking about kids who fall victims of broken families, due to parents walking away. But most of them you are talking about had never married so it is just a matter of not turning up one day as there was no commitment anyway. I do watch Jeremy Kyle show and that tells me what a society I am living in and then few people come forward and say,

keyplus don't watch idiot shows like Jeremy Kyle, that is not the majority of people in Britain, it paints a distorted picture of inadequate, often ill educated people. If you take your views from those then i pity you. The millions of law abiding, working people are those you should take notice of, and men and women who put their families first, those who love and cherish them, they are the ones who are in the majority. Women and men are different and so they should be, but that is not to say that women are inferior, weaker, and less than any man, if you think that then sorry i don't understand.

May I suggest that we all leave this obvious, rude, inconsiderate insulting bigot called Keyplus to himself... Having read all of the posts, several times, I can see no point in giving him the ammunition to further inflate his already over-inflated ego for fear that he might burst.

We, even with concerted effort will not remove the brainwashing he has undergone. He should be pitied. If he had put forward even the smallest of cogent arguments I would deign to listen to what he had to say but the above postings only shows him in his true colours...

So come on ABers, lets shun him and any future posts/threads until he comes to his senses and listens to others with respect for their opinions, some of whom have probabley far more life experience than he has.

For the info all decent minded ABers - I have mailed ED re the suggestion of bringing back "Black-Balling" Seems like a good idea to me, possibley with Three Strikes and You're Out to allow for any temporary aberration that we can all suffer when some-one disagrees with us. That should be fair as I just done a quick scan of this thread and noticed at least 5 partially veiled insults and sarcastic remarks... Any ideas anyone ?

When Keyplus shows his true colours, which he does regularly, he is his own worst enemy. His nonsense is there for all to see. I’ve been the butt of his insults since he came to AB four years ago, because, as a woman, I have the temerity to disagree with him. Having said that, I’m all for allowing freedom of speech – as long as it works both ways.

It's not me disagreeing or not liking what was said. It's something we've all heard before. Age doesn't make someone a bad parent. being a good parent yourself doesn't guarantee your offspring will be good parents.

I can’t actually see why Keyplus brought age into this discussion. In many Islamic societies little girls are married at a very early age – often to grown men. In fact, Mohammed married a six year old, and consummated the marriage when the girl was nine, and Keyplus will defend that, so it’s a bit rich for him to loftily preach moral standards to the rest of us.

Bumpkin – You ar ecalling me “bigot”. Let me tell you that this bigot’s even one post in last five years has not be removed. This bigot has been keyplus90 since day one. And a good number of the people who call themselves clever and associate things with me from everywhere in the world have changed (or shall I say adopted) several different ID’s to come back once kicked out. Perhaps ED can read and understand what I say better than few others here. So I have nothing to say and if you don’t like what I say then just ignore me, after all that is what you want others to do, so let’s see if you can do that. How quickly you have changed kids suffering from broken families (and that is what I said) to Muhammad’s marriage. Muslims all over the world have heard all that before. I do feel sorry for you Naomi , I really do. How you twist subjects when you do not have any answers.
