If a poor miserable person wins the lottery pretty soon they're a rich miserable person worrying about their health, whether people just like them for their money or other things money can't buy.
I agree with Budhists on this one - the source of misery is desire
Desire is the luxury of an economically developed nations populace. Those without the basic necessities of food, shelter or sanitation cannot even conceive of desire. These are basic needs, not desires.
Actually on thinking about it, I am quite offended by the OP's statement....let's say my child was abducted, raped and murdered, yet I am rich. Should I say oh well, I must be happy because I am still rich?
