Why do you hardly ever see muslims doing hard manual work or playing physical sports such as rugby or football?

I'm not being racist, it's just an observation and I wondered if anyone else had noticed and what the reason was.

Football is pretty big in every Islamic country I've ever visited. All the kids and young men seem to like playing it and use any bit of waste ground for a pitch.
many years ago i noticed that a man from pakistan and one from ireland would not work together, they both watched each other to make sure that they did not work harder than the other. net result neither did anything.
I don't understand why you are keen for people to know you are not being racist.

Muslims are followers of Islam - so this is a question about religion not about race.
Baza what were you doing at the time ? - standing there watching the both of them ?
Here is 36 great sports people who happen to be Muslim

I'm with flip_flop on this one, since when is Muslim a race?
Would be good if Dave came back to ask some of the questions we've asked.
Dave, there are a lot of North Africans working in the fields around here, I wouldn't mind betting that they are mostly muslim.
someone else posted something similar, and i could i am sure find the same link. About Muslim women in sport, they do in case you are asking.
Sonny Bill Williams is a Muslim. He plays for the All Blacks.

He's also a professional boxer.

Is that physical enough for you?

Fact: Someone built an extension on the end of their house, so the Dustbin wagon couldn't go to the end of the street to empty the bins and turn round. A meeting was held with the (all Asian) residents, we are in Bradford after all. It was suggested that the bins could be placed at a collection point quite close to the properties. One asian man said 'but my wife could not pull a full bin to that point'. They asked why he didn't put the bin out. He said 'It is not my job'. Therefore the council may be having to spend another £20.000 to create a turning point for the Wagon.
askyourgran, sadly that it not limited to one race. Many blokes i have worked, socialised, and indeed dated, have had that attitude, and none were asian
Plenty of Muslim builders round here.
One has a sign on his van, "You've tried the cowboys. Now try the Indians."
Now I think about it, they may be Sikhs, not Muslims.
Didn't realise that em, all the blokes in our street put the bins out. I will take ours in when it's empty.
i am referring to the fact that some men see this as women's work, whatever that means.
i work with lots of care workers who are muslim....now that's hard graft...
I do the bins and the re-cycling.
alot of sikhs work on motorway maintenance.
stoning rape victims is pretty hard labour, have you seen some of the breeze blocks they use?
