End Of The World Preppers ... What Now?

Do you feel sorry for them for being so blind and gullible?
Or do you just think theyre idiots that should have known better and deserve all the heartache they get?
i heard stories during the harold camping debacle that said people had sold all their stuff, left their jobs, abandoned their homes etc - and generally just gone on 'end of world' frivolous gallavants - and are now homeless, lost and miserable... some have spent months - even years - 'practising' survival in bunkers etc - and I assume similar things have happened on this one - possibly on a larger scale too, as this one seems to have been a more widespread thing.
i, of course, pity anyone who finds themselves in tough situation and is suffering - but at the same time i think, they brought it on themselves - how could they be so stupid?
you would hope they would learn from it, but many just carry on and wait for the next date...
sadly, it is usually the head of the household who is usually responsible and, in their mania, they bring down their kids and maybe elderly parents etc too.
the whole thing is very sad and baffling, but unfortunately it will happen again and again.

He had taken his pension some years back sold everything and waited for the end of the world when the comet kohutek came. Well the comet came and went and I suppose he may have passed on by now as he was a certain age back then. , he was working as a lower positioned person and all because of some outlandish belief. Oh well it takes all types I suppose.
