Ok, this isn't Bah Humbug, honestly, but I don't think vivid blue lights are very Christmassy yet there seem to be so many of them everywhere.
I was flying in to Gatwick Airport a couple of weeks ago and there were blue lights to be seen in gardens as far as could be seen. Aaaaargh!!
Coloured lights, white lights, yes, but blue? Aaaaaarrrrgh!!!!!!

isn't blue a colour? Do you mean you'd prefer red and yellow? Personally I have trouble seeing red and would much prefer a bright blue.

I think it stems from the fact that blue led's were expensive to make until recently- now they aren't everyone wants them as they were once considered exclusive- personally I like 'em, but my house is all soft white lights outside which I also like.
I'm not a fan of blue lights for Christmas either, cheap and tacky in my opinion.
I think also if on a crisp bright winter day, the snow has an icy blue to it.
From a distance they look like police crime scenes!
Town centre has blue lights entwined in trees. Looks pretty.
Funny I thought exactly that flying into Southampton earlier this week, couldn't agree more Wiirone think they're very harsh.
Blue lights are v common

Yes blue is a colour but they seem very cold. Attractive in their own way but I just cannot make the connection between blue lights and Christmas. More like science fiction.

I agree with you I think they are awfull too.
As someone who is unashamedly cheap and common I have to say I like them
once other colour leds are more widely available they will lose their popularity I suspect.. a few are ok but they are becoming a bit over used I like white myself especially when the cool and warm whites are mixed
I like the blue ones, can't stand multi coloured as they look cheap and tacky.
Blue ones are my favourite as they generate the 'snowy' feeling that Christmas is frequently about. We have all colours on the house but the blue ones in the mixed ones do not show up very good. A net full of blue lights draped over a bush or two in the garden looks great among the other lights!

If that's cheap and common, so be it.

Hey, peace and goodwill. If blue is for you then enjoy the hue. But ... aaaaaaaarrrrggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I said exactly that yesterday as my niece was driving me home. They do nothing for me and I really don't think of them as xmas lights at all.
I'm glad you asked this question because I've often thought about it too
Personally I don't like the blue, especially the dark blue, some folks got em going all year round
but maybe it's just my guilty conscience, when I spot them in the rear view and think the cops are after me
Light you are then. :P
