Hi All, one of my New Years resolutions is to try to seize the day and live life to the maximum. Just taking a moment each today to appreciate the world and break out of monotony and pressure of the rat race. I've tried a few things like taking the long way to work through a park and feeding the ducks, stopping to admire the architecture of a historic building, buying gloves from a market for a homeless person, and starting a conversation with a Jewish commuter on the tube to learn more about his religion.
Does anyone have any tips or experiences on how you can make the most of each day? They say life is a lemon but I want to suck up every bit of it's juice.
I am appreciative of waking up every day, and that I have a dry roof over my head, and food in the cupboard, and that I have good friends. I appreciate the plants growing in the garden, and my cats. Make the most of every bit - it sounds as if you have made a good start. My motto is to behave to others as I want them to behave to me - it seems to work, so far!
sounds like you're pointing in two directions: living it to the max sort of suggests cramming more stuff in when what you're really trying to do is slow down and diversify. You seem to be doing fine so far.
I'd say: educate yourself on any topic you'd like to know more about; and travel, which truly broadens the mind.
jno - I don't mean living life to the max in terms of bungee jumpng or doing lots of exciting things. Just small things in my everyday life that make a difference to me.
