Apart from the various tragedies and inconvenience of this abysmal weather we are experiencing, some of these photographs are delightful.
The one underwritten:
Snow the Welsh town of Llangollen which was cut off by road except for four wheel drive vehicles,.
Would make a delightful Christmas card.
And what can one say about the young Lamb and Lion cub, not to mention the two delightful kiddies on their sledge.
It is ironic that that Guardsman is forced to face the elements on the first day of summer dress, one would think that they would make an exception to the rules in such unusual circumstances?

!947 & 1940 were pretty bad also, note in the 1947 picture we used German POWs to shift the snow, would the ECHR allow that sort of thing today?

I remember a couple of winters we had in the 80s with 20' snow drifts and kids (including me) sledging down our road - happy days. That pic of Llangollen is great, it looks a bit like The Shambles in York. I bet it would look even more picturesque in the evening when the snow takes on that blueish tinge.
That guardsman looks as if he could do with a large hot toddy!
