After all, if ones personality has been shaped by prolonged suffering then having it conveniently washed away at death would either destroy the personality, change it fundamentally or else leave one with traits that one couldn't even understand oneself.

Nothing - I'm happy to copy and paste my belief in this Ecclesiastes
A Time for Everything
3 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
So, when my time comes, I've lived a good life, no regrets and nothing to hold onto- can't live forever

Few people have ever had to cope with all the problems Job had. Within a short space of time, he was devastated by the loss of his wealth and livelihood, the tragic death of all his children, and finally a very painful disease. Ostracized by friends and relatives, he was urged by his wife to “curse God and die!”—Jo
b 2:9; 19:13, 14.
But book opens by telling us about Job’s was a blameless and righteous man, and his family and his enjoying of great material prosperity.
Then we are given a view of heaven, where Satan appears among loyal sons of God in Jehovah’s presence. God calls Satan’s attention to Job’s upright course, implying that the issue had been raised before. In effect, Jehovah said to Satan: ‘So you claim that there is no man on earth that fears me and practices righteousness?
Satan replies: ‘Oh, yes? Sure he serves you. But look how prosperous you made him—7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, and so forth! Take away everything he has and you’ll see how he really feels about you!’ Accepting the challenge, Jehovah allows Satan to rob Job of all his possessions, including his children. .—Job, 1, 2.
What about your life? You may not think that it really matters how you live. But it does. Whether you know it or not, you supports either God’s side of the issue or Satan’s side. this is the Devil-ruled world would make it seem normal and right for you.(1John 5:19)

What a load of bullies you lot are. you are quite happy to mock and ridicule the beliefs of others while becoming 'outraged' if anyone dare differ in opinion from yourselves. Well I 'm glad I'm not Religious but I'm also glad I'm not atheist or agnostic as these seem to be the most contemptible and dogmatic of the lot.
What would you give to keep living" - Goodlife -this sounds more like a Hammer Horror film title and when I read your quote my mind has not changed -though I respect the fact that this is what you believe in.
Do you believe its only 'sinners' who want to stay alive regardless of cost? I ask this as if someone is a believer, and you know Heaven is waiting for you and eternal love and all that , then why would they want to stay alive?
