Murdo - “... Why do you [New Judge] it so difficult to refer to the First Minister of Scotland by her proper name... Do you not realise how much of an imbecile this make you look?” Does it really matter if New Judge uses a daft name to refer to her? It may have escaped your notice but this is and has been de rigueur for satirists and political pundits the world over...

It's not.

The Euromaniacs have made it quite clear that members of their much cherished (but actually not as good as they'd have you believe) single market freedom of movement must be maintained. If the UK politicians believe they can achieve a "soft" Brexit which involves the continuation of uncontrolled migration they are living in a similar La-La Land to MS Sturgeon. So, for that reason alone, if the rest of the UK cannot remain in the single market then neither can Scotland.

I doubt that the Euromaniacs would countenance such a proposal anyway but the Scots are suffering their usual delusions of grandeur i fthey think they can achieve Single Market membership when the rest of the UK does not.
Only by leaving the UK and being independent, which is the raison d'etre for her party. Brexit bring merely a convenient tool with which to create approval for a split.

I think it's because he's really besotted with her and tries to hide that by appearing to be dismissive, rather like a schoolboy who pulls a girl's pigtails in the playground to show his "disinterest".
New Judge is similar in that he constantly says things along the lines of, "I couldn't care less what Scotland does", but never, ever, fails to contribute to threads which are specifically about what Scotland may or may not do!

We are a United Kingdom in name alone - if they want to part let them go.
Murdo, besottedness, not nicknaming, was the similarity I was referring to earlier. Surely, if someone truly "couldn't care less" about a topic, it is odd to find a response from that person every single time that topic is raised.

"Why do you find it so difficult to refer to the First Minister of Scotland by her proper name," - what and spoil all the fun! PMSL!
Yeah, that's what's wrong with the world alright, giving people in power nicknames.
If we can eradicate this blight then Utopia can become a reality.

I contribute to lots of questions where the main topic is not of particular interest to me, QM. As far as this particular topic goes, I have generally no interest in what Scotland decides to do with its devolved powers provided it does not impinge on the rest of the UK and principally England (where I live). This particular proposal will because to remain in the single market Scotland would have to agree to freedom of movement. Quite how we can have fundamentally different immigration regime in one part of the UK to the rest is somewhat of a puzzle which I don't think has been particularly well though through by Ms Sturgeon and her chums.
I genuinely don't care if NJ is interested or not, as long as I get to read his posts.
Is besottedness catching?
