...shown on BBC's Panorama last night. I was expecting to see a thread about it and am a little surprised not to find one. The Panorama team returns to Blackburn ten years after showing a program investigating social integration in the town and asks the question "What's changed?".

Danny it does and its bigger than ever, last time i was down that way, and it was a couple of years ago, i wanted to get something from one of the shops and you would have thought i'd landed on the moon, only a couple of people in the shop spoke English. I finally found what i wanted but the Chinese community are as closed as its possible to be.

I've heard of cities and large towns with a 'Little Italy' too.

So the problem of non-integration is far from new.

Not heard of Little Italys but they do have social clubs where children are taught their ;own language.

there is or was a community of Little Italy, it centres around a Church which names escapes me, near to Leather Lane Market, it also centred around a wonderful deli that catered for the Italian and general community, where you can/could get fabulous stuff.
I don't get around much sorry to say.. so these may have all gone now for all i know.

ZM, Little Germany in Bradford got its name from the businesses in that area being mostly owned by Germans.There is no residential property there.
