I have a fake fur jacket, but it's obviously fake. No could mistake it for real.
I did try on a vintage fur coat once, but had no idea if it was real or not. I looked like a bag lady in it anyway.
I don't wear either....what they didn't mention is that the microshedding thing is a problem with all fleecy synthetics not just fake fur....they have mentioned it before and done a piece on it.
oh and yes I knew that in China fur is often used to make trim on garments and labelled as fake....I understand that the problem with looking for the skin on the back of the fur is that its not always helpful as the fur is shaved off the skin and then the fibres are used to make "fake" fur.
How many are appalled by the use of Fur , but are happy to use Leather? ( or to eat meat) Both fur and leather come from the skin of a dead animal, what's the difference?
Nearly all leather comes from animals killed for their meat.
Weren't they making the point that since we now know that the world has a waste plastic ptoblem, faux fur isn't a great idea either ?
Killing for food is part of normal life. Life feeds on life. It is that we've been brought up to be soft, that allows these weird anti-meat morality philosophies to emerge. However killing exclusively for material for clothing shows a considerable lack of value/concern for other species. Now if anyone has a recipe for roast mink...
