Why Should We Apologise?

Why should Great Britain apologise for past crimes, and open the door for compensation to people who were not born then?
India and Africa?

Outside toilet, one cold tap, patches in my kecks, and a childhood lived in poverty, in spite of parents who worked like crazy and saved us from reality.
We thought we were well off.
How did we benefit?

I think we should sue the Roman's for invading us 2,000 years ago (even if they did leave us with some fantastic archaeology)

We can also sue the French (Normans) for invading us 1,000 years ago and taking all the land off the then "British" and giving it to French "Lords".
