I don't think that diagnoses in general are used to rule in or rule out being given a blue badge. Its about function, problems and disabilities.
hc // tinnitus can severely affect a person's balance//
One then might have to ask, should they be driving?
you dont need to be a driver to get a badge though khandro
Khandro, you don't have to be a driver to have a blue badge. Children and adults without a driving licence can have them.
khndro, most blue badges are issued to people who don't drive. They are so that they can go out by car driven by someone else.
Tinnitus per se doesn't affect the balance and the commonest cause of tinnitus has no effect on balance.
However.....tinnitus with other symptoms, vertigo or deafness might well affect the balance.
Does the car wear the badge or the invalid? if it's the car, then it must surely be open to abuse.
The blue badge is issued to the invalid and has his/her photo on it so it is not really open to abuse.
Khandro the badges do get abused and misused.

David, the simplest answer is read the forms and if your condition merits it, then apply.
Khandro it is the vehicle and you are right it does lend itself to abuse.
sqad, its NOT the vehicle in the Uk.....you are maybe thinking about the use of a motability car?
Sqad, sorry but it is issued to the individual not the vehicle.I do not have a vehicle, but I do have a blue badge.
woofy...the badge is worn by the vehicle and NOT the person, in the UK.
It is the person that is disabled and not the car, but the car has the badge displayed and not the person.
Danny...have you ever seen a disabled sticker on a disabled person?
The sticker is on the car.
I have a blue badge and a vehicle. The badge is issued to me. My wife used to have her mother's blue badge for when she visited her in Musselburgh as my MIL did not have a vehicle.
Sqad, yes, the badge is displayed in the vehicle when it is occupied by the invalid, but it is notissued to a vehicle.
Sqad, the badge can be used by the person it is issued to whilst using taxis or any vehicle. It is simply displayed in the vehicle - the badge is not issued to the vehicle.
I think what has happened here is that Sqad has taken Khandro's question literally.

//Does the car wear the badge or the invalid?//
danny/hc...... I AGREE that the badge is issued to the person, but I ask again.......have you ever seen a person with a disabled sticker on his/ her body parts?......NO.

When the disabled person uses a car it is the car that is showing the disabled sticker.
Sqad

Danny...have you ever seen a disabled sticker on a disabled person?
The sticker is on the car.

I have it on good authority that a load of err disabled Argentinian soldiers were found with"I've met the Marines stickers" on them after cessation of hostilities in the Falkland Islands.
