I've never been offered breakfast on a job in my entire life.
Tea, coffee, yeah that's quite normal, and on reflection i once got offered a ham sandwich (i guess this is similar) but this morning i was offered a coffee (happily accepted) and a bacon butty!!!!!
I double took the nice (relatively old) lady after saying yes to the coffee with a "urmm, that would be delightful but you don't have to go through the trouble"
Nonsense she said (SCORE!!!) and she came back 5 minutes later with a Chris P Bacon sandwich, so i sat down with her for a couple of moments to sip the morning Joe and to destroy Chris P.. Now, back to trimming her bushes for the last time before winter.. Don't forget winter is coming ya'll get your plants ready
Would you accept such an offer or would you feel rude? Usually i would feel rude but in the moment it felt perfectly acceptable. I come here once a week so i've got to know the nice lady
I'm only 20 and I don't consider old til about 80 either HIA, mind you my grandmother is 80 with a much much younger husband and rants about like a teenager, so that probably colours my view of old age.
But spath when you look at the Queen and Phillip well into their 90's, 80 isn't that old! I also know two lovely people both well into their 90's and one of them puts me to shame !
You're right, just because you 'are' old doesn't mean your soul is.. But for your physical body to be 70+ you're not going to be climbing mountains or playing on trampolines are ya really.. (on average, we're talkin averages)
So many people in their 70's, 80's 90's take part in marathons and extreme sports, it's really not old to me. To me being old is a state of being worn out and exhausted of energy and joy, that can happen to you at 20 tbh.
Old doesn;t have to mean frail, weak and unable to do stuff.. You can be old and do a marathon, you're just more experienced and have been on the planet for a 'long time'
it's ya'll giving the term old these negative connotations
I know a lot of abers seem to prefer brown sauce on a bacon buttie, but to me and mine, we have been brought up to believe that tom. sauce is the best - each to their own, I guess. I could just eat one now ...
