So whats wrong with a bit of cockney?, if there are any left.
I love accents too! I wish I had an accent but I am just plain old Enlish, BBC style accent, I'm afraid to say, nothing very interesting. Probably comes from travelling round the world as a little girl, going to school in only private English schools etc etc...Very Very boring. The only place I ever went as an adult (aged 19/20) where I actually felt like I had an accent, was the US where loads of people said (hey, I love your accent, honey!!) hehehehe.
needlesss to say, I adore any accent in any person, and am quite good at impersonating accents because i listen so carefully to them (very sad, I know.) But I guess my favourite is my husband's: He has a very posh accent! It just makes me die. My next fav has to be French.....perfect! next; southern Irish; next south African; next Australian; next US. and then any in any particular order....least favourite: has to be welsh I just can't understand what they are saying!
I'm with maggie01. I am from the East End of London and I hate the cockney accent! Maybe in days gone by it may have had an endearing charm, but nowadays it just seems too 'put on' and fake. Awlright geezah!
I quite like the idea of a young husky French lady whispering in my ear, but that has nothing to do with the accent!
