Not going to lie, if you have a dog and you need social media to remind you how to look after it (hot cars, hot pavements, hot hot hot) you really shouldn't have a dog.

yes indeed, but some people have dogs and have no idea how to look after them. If thse reminders help dogs care improve that's all good

It would be an enormous task to vet (pardon the pun) people's intelligence in respect of pet ownership. It would be almost as hard as introducing some sort of test for internet forums.

I do not have a dog (Baldric sighs with relief). The reason i say this, i recently went onto my Facebook page an people are 'sharing' things all over the place about dogs in hot cars, and walking dogs on pavements. Seems the term 'common' sense is actually very ironic.

When a dog needs to pee then a dogs gotta pee. I have no garden and, when I had a dog, the nearest suitable place for a toilet break was a few minutes away. Many people are in this situation.

I agree that there are eejits who don't deserve a dog as a friend but they are in the minority.

Just read on Metro about today being the record breaking hottest day.It started giving advice how we can prevent harm to ourselves during the heatwave.
It include telling females where NOT to put ice lollies. I kid you not.

Sadly there are many people who don't consider the effects on their dogs and still take them out in the heat. However the proliferation of 'warnings' shared on social media have got more to do with people feeling the need to share everything when in fact many of these things are just set up by people to get others to share and someone at the top of the food chain is making money out of selling pages with lots of likes and shares.

as i have said many times on answerbank we are a nation of dog owners not dog lovers,i have heard so many sad stories of cruelty to dogs,every second person i speak to ",what a lovely dog you have"and most times its a rescue dog.
